The details are still being finalized, but this is to inform you that Conversations Book Club, in partnership with Bestselling author Diane Dorce' and FireFly Publishing, will be hosting a "Book Lovers Day" in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, May 31, 2008. The event will take place at the Comfort Inn (795 Pollard Blvd.) in Atlanta, and will be geared at authors, book club members and book lovers throughout the state to come together and discuss what unites them all: BOOKS!
The program will take place from 1-5p.m. and is a MUST for those who are addicted to books. There will be a meet and greet for authors and readers as well as a forum that addresses the joys, tribulations and politics of the literary industry. Listen while authors tell you how their livelihood is directly affected by the way their books are marketed.
Also on the agenda will be a discussion of the power of today's book clubs and how the books they select have the possibility of making or breaking the career of lesser known authors. Finally, we will hear from book lovers in attendance about what they like to read and how word of mouth about a book may affect their reading habits. Each session will be moderated by Conversations Book Club President Cyrus A. Webb.
Admission to the day's events is free, and there will be light refreshments provided by FireFly Publishing.
